Fuckin' Finally!
The mirror-clad mini-art vending machine looked right at home at Shiva and Mark’s disco themed engagement party at Pop Recs earlier this month.
This funky venue was perfect for the music-loving couple, and we decided filling the machine with temporary tattoos, rather than stickers or prints, would be most in keeping with their vibe.
Shiva is a designer herself and had already created a “f*uckin’ finally” logo as part of the pink and black disco decor, so I used this as a starting point for the tattoos.
The original logo was quite square as it was designed to be printed on a mirror, so I stripped back some of the smaller details to give it a more organic shape, and repurposed the style to create a variety of star and heart tattoos.
I then designed a matching disco ball, as well as tattoos of the couple themselves which I created by adding photos of their faces onto hand drawn disco bodies. These were perfect for temporary tattoos as bold, clean lines tend to work best, but the faces were still obviously them, so the result was personal and fun.
As this was a family affair, I also turned their son and cat’s faces into disco balls too!
TThe bespoke machine frontage was a collection of all the concepts with the “f*uckin finally” text interwoven between the couple’s bodies. A pot of tokens was left on top of the machine so guests could help themselves all night, and the cardboard sleeves that dispense the tattoos also contained instructions and safety information.
The machine was collected from the venue the next day, and the bespoke frontage and any left over tattoos were sent to the couple as keepsakes.
