August was all about the ASMR
I love the sound my Apple Pencil makes on the paper texture screen protector I have on my iPad, and while quietly colouring in recently I wondered if anyone else would enjoy it too. So mid-creation of the “They Said Yes” greetings card, I cracked out my little mic to make a quick close up video of the letter E. Turns out I’m not the only one who loves the satisfaction of high-speed ASMR colouring in, with over 6k likes on this daft Insta reel to date.
This card is part of the “Just To Say” collection which I’ve extended over the last month to cover more life events. The designs feature simple messages in bold, bright typography with black accent sparkles. There are now 21 designs available for many occasions, from birthdays to divorces or just saying hello.

Greetings card designs from this collection, along with a series of matching patterns, are also available to license. Get in touch for more information.
Sunderland BID Commission project
August saw a fun commission project from Sunderland BID come to fruition.
The Blandford Street Party took place on 8th August, shining a spotlight on the street’s independent businesses, and promoting sustainability, creativity and community spirit.
It was a great day, with live music, face painting, circus skills from Circurama, live portraits from Hannah Graham Story Teller and loads more.

I was tasked with designing a series of eyecatching, upcycling-themed stickers for the event, featuring slogans such as “keep good things going” and “see potential everywhere”. Designs were printed on to FSC-certified stickers and left unlaminated to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. I also designed bespoke frontage for the machine showing the 7 different stickers that could be collected, along with the Sunderland BID logo and other key messaging they wanted to include.

They were loaded into my old-school mini-art vending machine, which works by inserting a token into the slot and turning a knob to dispense a sticker. Tokens were freely given out to party-goers all day, providing a fun, hands-on way to grab a memento of their visit.
